Sunday, April 13th at 2:00 Clues Unlimited Book Club will meet to discuss Dragon Man (SOHO, $11.00), an Australian police procedural by Garry Disher.
Monday, April 21 at 6:00 Mario Acevedo will be here to sign the latest Felix Gomez vampire mystery, The Undead Kama Sutra (Rayo, 13.95). Please join us for a fanging good time.
Saturday, May 3rd 2:30 Elizabeth Zelvin will be here to sign her debut mystery, Death Will Get You Sober (STM, 23.95), about a recovering alcoholic who uses a murder investigation to keep his mind off drinking.
Sunday, May 11th at 2:00 Clues Unlimited Book Club will meet to discuss The Case of the Missing Books by Ian Sansom (HC, 12.95), a comic mystery about an English librarian who accepts a job in a small Irish town only to discover that there are no books in the library.
Thursday, May 9th at 7:00 Clues will present a panel discussion featuring Carolyn O’Bagy Davis, Jane Eppinga, and Susan Cummins Miller, Tucson historians who will be discussing the ways in which women’s history of the west gives us a sense of the way things really were.
Friday, May 16th at 7:00 Ted Kerasote will be here to discuss and sign Merle’s Door: Lessons from a Freethinking Dog (Har, 14.00) as part of a benefit for Arizona Greyhound Rescue. Tickets will be $10.00 at the door, and come early for heavy-duty Nicaraguan-style munchies and hounds to be loved on.
Sunday, February 10th at 2:00 Clues Unlimited Book Club will be discussing Lyn Hamilton’s Xibalba Murders (Brk, 6.99), set in Mexico, the first in the art and antiquities series featuring Toronto art dealer Lara McClintoch.
Sunday, February 17th at 2:00 Sandi Ault will be here to sign Wild Inferno (Brk, 23.95) set on the Southern Ute Reservation.
Saturday, February 23rd at 2:30 Patricia K. Batta will be here to sign and discuss What Did You Do Before Dying ? (Lillimar, 14.95), a first novel featuring a woman of a certain age who finds her husband dead, the victim of a supposed suicide--or was it? Her sleuthing upsets her children, friends, and neighbors as she seeks to prove that her husband did not kill himself.
Wednesday, February 27th at 7:00 Peter May will be here to sign and discuss The Critic (PP, 24.95), and since the book deals with the murder of a French wine critic, we will have a wine-tasting of French wines. Please join us for a different kind of signing.
Saturday, March 1st at 2:00 Betty Webb will be here to sign Desert Cut (PP, 24.95), the sixth in the Lena Jones series set in Arizona. Here Lena investigates the death of a young girl in the small border town of Los Perdidos. As always, Webb’s mysteries provide glimpses of little-known aspects of Arizona life. Also Elizabeth Gunn will be here signing Cool in Tucson (Severn, 27.95), the first in a wonderful police procedural series set her in the Old Pueblo.
Sunday, March 9th at 2:00 Clues Unlimited Book Club will be discussing Colin Cotterill’s Coroner’s Lunch (SOHO, 11.00), the first in the series featuring the shamanistic chief medical examiner of Laos.
Monday, March 10th at 10:00 Libby Fischer Hellmann and Cara Black will here for a discussion and signing to benefit Brandeis. Hellmann will be signing both of her recent books, Chicago Blues (BH, 14.95), a collection of short stories set in the Windy City and Easy Innocence (BH, 24.95hc and 14.95 tp), a thriller featuring a PI investigating the deaths of girls from Chicago’s North Shore. Black will be signing the latest in the series featuring French-American PI Aimee LeDuc (Murder in the Rue de Paradise, SOHO, 22.95) in a case that involves her with Paris’ Turkish and Kurdish immigrants.
Saturday, March 15th at 2:00 Ken Kuhlken will be here to sign The Vagabond Virgins (PP, 24.95), the latest in the family saga of the Hickey family in a mystery that takes place in Tijuana and Baja California.
Saturday, April 5th at 2:00 Clues will be having a coming-out party for Emily, the new addition to the Clues Unlimited family, which will be a benefit for the Ironwood Pig Sanctuary. Come and pig-out on food (no pork), drink, and a chance to see the world's cutest baby pig. Check the website for pictures of our newest little bookseller.

Tuesday, November 27 through Sunday, December 16 the Invisible Theatre presents a deliciously diabolical mystery, The Business of Murder, centering on a television playwright, a detective, and a mystery man--all connected by murder. On Wednesday, December 5th after the performance at 7:30, I will be discussing the theater and the mystery tradition. Call 882-9721 for tickets.
Sunday, December 9th at 2:00 Clues Unlimited Book Club will be discussing Poirot’s Christmas by Agatha Christie(Png, 6.99) to celebrate the holiday season in murderous fashion.
Saturday, December 29th at 3:00 John Roynnesdal will be here to sign Living in Darkness (Starbooks, 16.95), a thriller set in Honolulu featuring HPD’s homicide detective Philip Michael Carnegie--a cross between Lt. Columbo and Jessica Fletcher--who must solve a series of hate crimes against gays. Hawaiian munchies (but no roast pig, according to Sophie) and discounts on our large selection of GLBT mysteries.

Saturday, October 27th at 7:00 pm Clues is pleased to host Richard Shelton signing Crossing the Yard: Thirty Years as a Prison Volunteer (Uof A Press, 35.00hc, 17.95 paper) and Ken Lamberton signing Time of Grace: Thoughts on Nature, Family, and the Politics of Crime and Punishment (Uof A Press, 17.95 paper). While these books may seem outside of the mystery purview, it will be interesting to look at not just crime, but also punishment, and the transformative power of writing. Please join us.
